NEW MEERSCHAUM PIPES! Meerschaum pipes have been difficult to obtain of late but Catlin's is pleased to announce it now has a source for new stock. Reasonably priced at £42.50, the pipes are under the well known "Ben Wade" label. Most are finished in "sandblast" (i.e. rough or "rustic") but there is the odd one in smooth. Sadly we are unable to order specific types or shapes as the boxes come assorted, but pipe-smokers looking for meerschaum will not be disappointed with these. PARKER OF LONDON SPECIAL OFFERS The lunatics are in charge of the asylum ! Well, not quite, I should have written, "The Accountants are in charge of the firm". For many years Parker has been a cheaper version of the world-renowned Dunhill pipe. The powers that be in sequestered Walthamstow E17 have decided that there is too great a stock of blank shapes at the factory and the order went out to finish them as Parker i.e. let's get the stock cleared and finish them as a cheaper pipe. So we have these very good quality, certainly not seconds, pipes to clear at £17.50 each. Again, they come in assorted shapes within a box, so you should pop in and see if something suits you. FROM THE SUBLIME TO THE RIDICULOUS (Yes I know it's back to front but this is Catlin's) And here I refer to price. Those specials above are at a sublime price, now I must tell you we have some ridiculously priced pipes too. I am almost ashamed. But quality is quality and man cannot live by snuff alone. I do have some superb Peterson highest quality Sherlock Holmes series pipes in stock, I have had them for a little while but unlike some folk, I have not just gone along marking them up all the time. They are around £99 each. Wonderful craftsmanship. Do please ask to see one or two. And if you want to stop my grouching, buy one as well ! |
